Okay Thursday night, I straightened my hair. Friday I was very excited to go and get my trim. The lady who did my last trim/cut my layers was doing someone else's hair, so I sat in another lady's chair. I told her EXACTLY what I wanted (twice)...
"I need a 1/4" trim, and please keep the V-shape of my layers in the back."
"Alright" was her reply.
Then she made the first cut and showed me what she removed--it was 1/4" so I let her finish.
It all happened so fast, but somehow I ended up with 3" off my hair and a U-shape (not a V) in the back.
I was horrified.
I looked completely different than I did when I went in there! It was terrible. I never thought I'd be one of those girls who cried at the salon, but I did cry (in my car). I couldn't even drive. I was very upset because that was MONTHS of retention down the drain.
If I was trying to be APL, then I'd be 100% happy with the cut. It's a good haircut. But that's NOT what I wanted!!! I went from being an inch away from BSL to being APL...again. It sucks, and while I'm trying to get used to it, when I see girls with hair the same length mine was, I can't help but be a little bit bitter.
Well at least my ends are super healthy? I should be BSL in no time. It's kinda comforting knowing my hair will grow back, but I can't help but feel like the last year has been a big waste of time.
